Rob Towne
Age 37- born Aug 1 1972
I was born in St Ignace and raised in Northern Michigan. My Dad is a Tool maker and a graduate of Ferris State University, my mom is a paraprofessional at Boyne City schools. My sister is a Graduate of Michigan State and is working toward her masters to become a school counselor. My wife is a Graduate of Boyne City HS and NCMC as well and works locally in Charlevoix as an office Manager. Mary and I graduated High School and College together and were High School Sweethearts.
Being from Northern Michigan I have small town roots but work with a Fortune 500 company which keeps everything in perspective. I worked my way up into my current position of Executive Director and enjoy every aspect of my job. The most challenging part of what I do is never maintaining a static routine, always needing to learn new technologies to stay on the forefront of business.
I have coached High School baseball as both an assistant and a Head coach (1993-2002) and I am PACE Certified. I now coach in little league, most recently tee-ball. Golfing, biking and skiing are a few outdoor activities we enjoy as a family with camping being a major part of our summers.
In 2008 I became involved with Challenge Mountain when we first brought Aidan out to ski and from then on have been in love with the organization. Challenge Mountain has brought our family closer together through the outdoor recreation they offer and they actually taught me how to ski!!! March of 2009 I joined the board of directors and hit the ground running to see where I could help the organization. I plan on serving as a board member and as a volunteer for as long as the organization may need me.
