A Note of Gratitude

Businesses & Organizations Make a Lasting Impact

Several northern Michigan granting agencies provided substantial funding in 2019 to support the Challenge Mountain mission: To enrich lives and empower individuals living with disabilities through year-round adaptive recreation. Gratitude goes out to each organization for their contribution.

Charlevoix County Community Foundation: grants for purchase of six kayaks ($2,700), fund development board education ($4,000), and interior signage ($450).

Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation: grants for fund development board education ($6,000) and interior signage ($500)

City of Boyne City Boyne Thunder Committee: funding to support adaptive recreation for adults and children living with disabilities ($12,250)

DTE Foundation: Spirit Day Camp grant ($10,000)

Boyne Mountain Resort: 70-Hour Mountain Challenge ($35,000)

Great Lakes Energy People Fund: grant for purchase of tool shed and Resale Store parking area improvements ($2,000)

Rotary Club of Boyne City: grant supporting purchase of the tool shed ($1,000)

Boyne Valley Knights of Columbus: financial support for children and adults living with disabilities to participate in year-round adaptive recreation ($1,964)

Petoskey Knights of Columbus: financial support for children and adults living with disabilities to participate in year-round adaptive recreation ($2,169) and Spirit Day Camp ($5,059)

Vanderbilt Knights of Columbus: financial support for children and adults living with disabilities to participate in year-round adaptive recreation ($1,500)

JD Open: financial support for children and adults living with disabilities to participate in year-round adaptive recreation ($4,000)

Christ Child Society of Northern Michigan: Spirit Day Camp grant ($2,000)

The Bryant Family from Traverse City: replacement of stolen Challenge Mountain lodge sign ($750)
