Amazing Memories,
Lasting Friendships:
2022 SPIRIT Day Camp Success
The 2022 Spirit Day Camp hosted 55 camper experiences over 12 days. Incredible! And, all made possible by generous donors and volunteers!
Modifications made in 2021 due to safety protocols were so well received, this new SPIRIT Day Camp format welcomed excited campers during three four-day sessions in July and August. “It was another amazing summer of activities and fun,” shares Program Director Linda Armstrong. “We’ve received positive feedback from campers, families, caregivers and volunteers alike with a collection of photos for the memory books,” she expresses.
SPIRIT Day Camp is offered each summer and includes outings that allow individuals living with disabilities the opportunity to stay connected to their community while enjoying outdoor recreational activities with friends.
Throughout each camp session, outings and destinations vary with experiences from golfing with The First Tee at Boyne Highlands, bowling at BC Lanes, enjoying a Concert in the Park in Petoskey, playing adventure golf at Pirate’s Cove, enjoying our lakes with kayaking and fishing…the list goes on.
“Thanks to our generous donors who make this camp possible,” shares Executive Director Elizabeth Looze. “This is an annual tradition for many campers who look forward to reconnecting with friends year and year.”
