I like Challenge Mountain because they invite anyone with disabilities to ski or snowboard. They can play the games and go skiing to help people with disabilities like Cerebral Palsy. It was established in 1984. It was the first independent adaptive skiing program in Northern Michigan. They focus on having fun, making friends, building confidence and independence.

Challenge Mountain is a great place for people to ski. I thought it was fun when I went there with my class. I went snowboard and skiing. Their mission statement is “We believe that all people regardless of ability should have the opportunity to experience life and adventure.” This explains what they are trying to achieve.

They need the money for more gear like gloves and hats. The people that work there have lots of experience with the disability kids they work with. They have over 150 volunteers and they are super helpful? They give over 17,500 hours of their time every year. There is also a resale store where they sell things to earn money for the program. I think it is really important for the people they help to have personal pride and a sense of achievement. They also help people to understand people with disabilities and develop acceptance.

Please consider donating to this awesome charity that does such good work and has helped me personally. I gained self-confidence, had fun and made friends, all things I couldn’t have done without their help.
